Measures for Coping with Disastrous Weather Taken in DPRK

Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- Officials and working people across the DPRK are waging a campaign to cope with the disastrous weather.

North Hwanghae Province is taking measures in advance to find vulnerable places and urges officials of cities and counties to make full preparations for coping with disastrous weather while keenly observing changing weather.

South Hwanghae Province has sent officials to major granaries to solve the problems arising in ensuring the full operation of drainage facilities. Cities and counties are directing efforts to repairing drainage facilities and digging drainage canals.

South Hamgyong Province is taking measures to reinforce embankments in the lower reaches of rivers adjoining the coast of the sea and pushing ahead with the work to strengthen the information system for evacuating fishing boats to safe waters and keep fishing bases, harbours and other places on a full alert. -0-
