Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- Chairman Kim Jong Il is a peerless patriot who devoted himself to the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people.

He had made ceaseless journey of field guidance for the wellbeing of the people, always keeping them in his heart.

In January 1998, he visited Jagang Province despite the biting cold of midwinter.

When he reached the province through the night journey, he said that he was going to give field guidance at more than 20 units in two days. And he added that when he was advancing in the vanguard, the people would follow him and victory would be achieved through the successful forced march.

In 2009 alone, he gave field guidance at more than 200 units without letup. The distance he traveled in the year for guidance is equal to the one he had done by train for ten years.

He made the ceaseless train forced march in the period from January to December 2011, the last year of his revolutionary career. The units of his field guidance in the period included a modern glass bottle factory and other industrial establishments and fruit farms, fish farms, parks and pleasure grounds. On December 16, 2011, he took a measure to supply fish to Pyongyang citizens and got on the train for the people at night.

He regarded his train as his office room and lodging quarters and gave the nonstop field guidance for the people, using the train 1 647 times in his lifetime. The distance he traveled on the train is more than 398 000 km.

The DPRK people always remember the immortal exploits of the Chairman who made ceaseless journeys on the train for the people, regarding it as the greatest pride of his life to serve them. -0-
