Pyongyang, December 3 (KCNA) -- The Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm, a large-scale greenhouse vegetable production base of the DPRK, mass-produces vegetables, contributing to improving the people's diet.

The farm is associated with the devoted efforts of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who is working heart and soul to provide the people with an affluent and happy life.

Kim Jong Un personally chose the site of the farm, dispatched construction forces and energetically guided the whole course of the construction ranging from building work to supply of materials.

At the inauguration ceremony of the Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm and the tree nursery on December 3, 2019, he said that quantitative indices are important in vegetable production but what's more important is nutritional indices and taste, adding that the farm should actively introduce advanced science and technology and achieve optimum results in the future.

True to his noble intention, the farm has increased production by depending on science and technology and strengthening its own technical forces.

The farm has transformed the former integrated production system into the intelligent one and introduced a cylindrical vegetable cultivation device to double productivity.

It has also increased the production of fruit vegetables such as cucumber and tomato and leaf vegetables like cabbage through the proper selection of varieties and distribution of crops, and directed efforts to producing functional vegetables.

This year, too, the farm studied and introduced dozens of varieties of functional vegetables including legume and balsam pear, increased the areas under cultivation and produced various varieties of functional vegetables to send them to the children of the Chongjin Baby Home, Chongjin Orphanage and Chongjin Middle School for Orphans and residents in the province. -0-
