Pyongyang, March 5 (KCNA) -- An enlarged plenary meeting of the Cabinet Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea was held on Wednesday to implement the decisions of the Ninth Congress of the WPK and the First Plenary Meeting of the Ninth Central Committee of the WPK.

Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and premier of the Cabinet of the DPRK, guided the meeting.

Present there were members and alternate members of the Cabinet Committee of the WPK and, as observers, officials concerned.

The plenary meeting discussed and decided on measures for successfully attaining the new long-term goals set forth by the Ninth Congress of the WPK.

Ri Yong Sik, chief secretary of the Cabinet Committee of the WPK, made a report.

The reporter referred to the fact that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un proudly reviewed the successes made during the eighth term of the Party Central Committee at the Ninth Congress of the WPK and clearly indicated the scientific fighting strategies and guidelines to meet the requirements of the new stage of the revolution.

He called upon the Cabinet Party Committee and Party organizations at all levels to consolidate the successes achieved in the struggle for opening up the era of comprehensive development of the state and scrupulously and vigorously conduct the organizational and political work for carrying them forward to the successes of higher stage.

He stressed the need for the Party organizations of the Cabinet, ministries and national agencies to improve the Party guidance and political guidance over the work for economic development and improvement of the people's living standards and thus make a stride forward in all fields.

The reporter appealed to all officials to devote themselves to the struggle for bringing about substantial changes and progress in the period of the new long-term plan, true to the grand plan and intention of the Party Central Committee, and thus creditably carry out the heavy duty entrusted by the Party and the revolution.

Then speeches were made at the plenary meeting.

Sectional consultative meetings were held to work out executive plans for implementing the policy tasks for the Cabinet and economic guidance organs on the basis of the direction of advance and the programme of struggle clarified by the Party Congress. -0-
