Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- Nampho Municipality of the DPRK pushes ahead with the project for improving medium and small rivers.

The municipality is expanding successes by concentrating efforts and means on the work to finish the planned medium and small river improvement before the rainy season.

It sent officials to the areas with many medium and small rivers to reinforce the guiding forces and has provided conditions for increasing the operation rate of vehicles.

It held a show on the improvement of medium and small rivers to generalize the successes and experience gained in the work, and helps ensure quality in all processes of river improvement including dredging, riverbank reinforcement and turf planting.

Ryonggang County is pushing ahead with dredging as scheduled by raising the utilization rate of hydraulic excavators and other heavy machines.

Onchon County concentrates heavy machines on the improvement of the Sobongryong Stream, a huge project. Taean District completed the dredging of the Wolha Stream and is concentrating efforts on planting turf on its surroundings. -0-
