22nd May 21 Architectural Festival Finishes in DPRK

Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- The 22nd May 21 Architectural Festival closed with due ceremony at the Sci-Tech Complex here on Friday.

Exchanged at the festival were successes and experience gained in the work to build structures which serve as models and standards of the times in which the idea of people-first architecture is embodied and to put architectural science and technology on a higher stage.

During the festival there was a presentation of experience gained in designing and creating the architectural aesthetic features of 10 000 flats at the fourth-stage in the Hwasong area, which came to a new stage of the development of Juche-oriented architecture under the wise leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, and a video show on the world trend of architecture.

South Phyongan, South Hamgyong and North Hwanghae provinces were highly appreciated at the festival.

Present at the closing ceremony were Vice-Premier Kim Jong Gwan, officials concerned, scientists, designers, teachers and researchers in the field of construction across the country.

The results of the festival jury was announced and cups, diplomas and certificates were awarded to the Paektusan Institute of Architecture, Pyongyang University of Architecture, the Pyongyang Municipal Design Institute, the Kangwon Provincial Design Institute, the Jagang Provincial Design Institute and others highly appreciated units and participants. -0-
