Efforts for Revitalizing Raw Material Bases in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- Phyongwon County in the DPRK is building up its raw material bases and revitalizing their operation in a planned way.

After calculating the amount of raw materials needed for normalizing production at regional-industry factories, the county organized technical study, demonstration and passing-on technique meeting for raising the level of scientific farming and the proportion of mechanization, thus arousing the creative enthusiasm of the masses.

The materials base station concentrates manpower and means on the areas with favourable conditions for cultivation and selects seeds properly in conformity with the climatic and soil conditions of the area, thus making it possible to cultivate crops healthily.

The oil-bearing tree forest station is pruning trees, managing land and spraying nutrient solution on the basis of the experience and lessons gained in the cultivation of Evodia daniellii Benn in the past.

The forest station for paper materials is taking responsible care of quickly-growing bamboo willows trees with high economic efficiency.

The county has pushed ahead with the work to plant many industrial crops by finding idle land and thus laid a foundation for supplying raw materials satisfactorily. -0-
