Pyongyang, May 15 (KCNA) -- Tens of young people in North Hamgyong Province in the DPRK volunteered for the major theatres of socialist construction.

Those in Myonggan and Kyonghung counties pledged to devote their sincere efforts to implementing the Workers' Party of Korea's policy on regional development.

Those in Chongjin City, and Kyongsong, Orang and Kyongwon counties volunteered to work at city and county construction brigades.

Among the volunteers are young people in Hoeryong City and Myongchon County who petitioned to work at mines and farms.

A meeting was held in Chongjin City on Thursday to congratulate the volunteers.

Present at the meeting were officials concerned, youth league officials and youth.

Petition certificates were conferred on the volunteers and then a congratulatory speech and resolution-making speeches were made.

At the end of the meeting there was an art performance congratulating the volunteers.

Youth and students warmly saw off the volunteers leaving for new revolutionary posts, presenting bouquets to them. -0-
