Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- The preparations for finishing farming are progressing apace in the rural areas of the DPRK.

Anju and Kaechon cities and Sukchon and Mundok counties of South Phyongan Province have repaired and maintained farm machines while securing necessary accessories and organizing manpower in a rationally way.

Officials of Anak, Sinchon, Yonan and Paechon counties of South Hwanghae Province are learning about the operation of farm machines and taking necessary measures.

Kangwon Province has directed efforts to increasing the proportion of mechanization in farming, including repairing and adjusting tractors and threshers and introducing rice threshers to suit the specific conditions.

Sinuiju City and Ryongchon and Thaechon counties of North Phyongan Province are making big efforts to secure small and medium farm implements while keeping farm machines in full-capacity operation.

Rural villages in North Hwanghae and North Hamgyong provinces worked out plans for harvesting and are taking measures to transport and store maize. -0-
