Pyongyang, May 23 (KCNA) -- All the people across the country are significantly greeting the 85th anniversary of the victorious battle of Musan area.

The battle of Musan area organized and commanded by President Kim Il Sung in May Juche 28 (1939) was a historic event of epochal significance in implementing the Juche-oriented line of the Korean revolution and in rapidly bringing about a surge in the anti-Japanese national liberation movement of our people centring on the armed struggle.

The battle of Musan area proved that the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA), which had been rumoured to be defeated by the Japanese imperialists, not only exists but also was developing into a stronger force and continuing to deal a sledge-hammer blow at the Japanese imperialists.

Over the past 20-odd years since the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Musan Area with a statue of President Kim Il Sung was renovated on May 23, 2002, nearly 2.2 million working people of many units, service personnel and students visited the monument.

They renewed their will to fight for the victory of the Party's cause, the revolutionary cause of Juche, regarding the sacred revolutionary history of the President and the firm spirit of the fighters to defend the leader unto death, ardent patriotism and revolutionary optimism as a mirror of their life and struggle. -0-
