Production of Minerals and Nonferrous Metals Increased in DPRK

Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- The mining industry of the DPRK is striving to increase the production of minerals and nonferrous metals.

The Unpha Mine set it as an important link of putting the production of minerals on a normal track to secure prospective cutting faces and has concentrated efforts and means on it. Tunneling and earth-scraping are given priority.

The apatite mines are boosting production while directing efforts to restoring the original capacity of equipment.

The Munphyong Smeltery has made a progress in the production of lead by making a technical innovation for producing high-grade oxidized steel from slag.
