Pyongyang, March 6 (KCNA) -- Agricultural workers across the DPRK have turned out in a drive to glorify this year marking the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea with high grain production results.
The daily quotas on all indices for farming preparations including the production and transport of self-sufficing manure have been over-fulfilled at 120 percent, and successes have been made in springtime farming.
Agricultural workers in South Hwanghae Province are making innovations in the preparation for sowing rice seeds in nurseries, securing water and keeping pumping equipment in full-capacity operation.
Those in South Phyongan Province are working hard to introduce the method of cultivating nutritive cold-bed rice seedlings into 80 percent area of rice fields.
Those in North Phyongan Province are stepping up the work to improve acid soil and soil affected by cold and humidity and to spread fertile soil on farm fields.
The sowing of spring wheat and barley is being pushed ahead with in the rural areas of North Hwanghae Province, and the agricultural workers in South Hamgyong Province are striving to raise the proportion of mechanization in farming.
Agricultural workers in North Hamgyong and Kangwon provinces, too, are devoting themselves to bringing about a rich harvest. -0-
