Joint Friendship Gathering Marks International Children's Day
Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- A joint friendship gathering took place at the Taesongsan Pleasure Park in Pyongyang Municipality, the DPRK on Sunday to mark the 75th anniversary of the June 1 International Children's Day.
Present there were Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Jong Sun, department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, Choe Hui Thae, chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People's Committee, officials of the women's union and officials concerned, exemplary teachers and women in educational work and education of children and kindergarten children in the municipality.
Present there were diplomatic envoys and members of diplomatic missions here and foreign guests and overseas Koreans staying in the socialist homeland.
Prior to the gathering, there was an acrobatic model aircraft demonstration of the players of the Pyongyang Municipal Air Club.
Jon Hyang Sun, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the women's union, made a speech at the gathering.
Amid the playing of children's songs, beautiful dance and gymnastic movements of children were displayed.
The festive mood of the gathering was revved up as the stage of pride and art performance were given by young prodigies, little players, soloists and dancers who presented their writings to the respected fatherly Marshal
Then followed sports and amusement games.
The cute appearance of little players in the flower rope-skipping and ball shooting games added to the enthusiasm and optimism of the spectators.
The race of mothers taking hand of children with balls on their heads and in their arms and tug of war game boosted the atmosphere of the joint gathering.
The children of different countries participated in colorful amusement games, sharing friendship with the Korean children.
The children's beautiful circle dance was displayed, decorating the end of the gathering. -0-
