Pyongyang, May 15 (KCNA) -- The 17th Symposium on Architectural Aesthetics took place at the Sci-Tech Complex in the DPRK on Wednesday through video-conferencing.
Present there were officials concerned, officials and technicians in the fields of construction design, inspection of construction, building operation, city management and land and environment protection.
The symposium was held under the theme of "New era of efflorescence of socialist civilization and Juche-based architecture". There were speeches made by Kim Kang Chol, head of an office of the State General Bureau of Design, Min Hyon Ju, vice general director of the National Industrial Design Administration, Ri Il Gon, chief of staff of the Pyongyang Construction Commission, Jo Won Chol, vice-minister of State Construction Control, and Ryang Pong Jin, dean of a faculty of Pyongyang University of Architecture.
Speakers referred to the fact that flourishing socialist living spaces boasting of modern architectural beauty have been built in Pyongyang every year and cultured country towns and fairyland villages built everywhere in the country amid the struggle to implement the programme for the rural revolution in the new era.
They explained the significance and importance of strengthening construction forces and positively introducing modern construction equipment under the condition that the construction of the largest-scale greenhouse farm, the vegetable science research center, multi-functional leisure complexes and grain storage stations has been conducted dynamically.
They called for respecting the construction law reflecting the Party's policy on construction and the requirements of the developing reality, establishing a climate of voluntarily observing the law and bringing about a radical improvement in the inspection of construction. -0-
