Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- A conspicuous landscaping was created to add beauty to the scenery of Samjiyon City, which has been turned into a model of mountain cultural town under the care of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The city made a deep study of afforestation and conducted a mass campaign to plant and cultivate trees of good species and turfs as required by designs.

The inhabitants of Potnamu-dong are ensuring practicality and a formative art by raising the appearance of buildings with garden plants.

Those of Ikkal-dong planted various kinds of flowers at the new flower beds in streets and parks with the main emphasis on lifting the ornamental effect and planted flowers.

The Samjiyon Potato Farina Production Factory and the Samjiyon Soybean Paste and Sauce Factory increased the flower areas with trees and flowers which are of ornamental value to suit the climate and soil conditions in the area of Mt Paektu, and the Samjiyon Hostel created the flower beds. These experiences are being widely generalized.

The employees of the traffic park for children and the sports park pruned trees well to suit the surrounding environment and thus provided the working people and inhabitants with a more cultured environment.

The city horticultural station distributed plant ornamental sculptures in different places and applied advanced greening methods to raise the dimensional greening level.

The city widens the insight of afforestation designers and introduces advanced greening methods suited to the actual conditions. -0-
