Pyongyang, October 16 (KCNA) -- Officials and researchers of the Kangwon Provincial Institute of Agricultural Science in the DPRK have developed varieties of crops, cultivation technology and effective agricultural chemicals production technology.

They succeeded in breeding new varieties of wheat, soybean and peanut with high yield per hectare and strong resistance to diseases.

The research group of the institute introduced the methods of sterilizing rice seeds and producing agrochemicals based on locally available raw materials.

And it developed and produced various kinds of highly efficient multi-nutrients for rice seedlings and multi-functional seed-covering agent, thus providing a guarantee for boosting the grain yield.

The Wonsan Vegetable Sub-institute developed radish varieties rich in vitamins and minerals. -0-
