Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- Preparations for sowing winter wheat and barley are being accelerated at the final stage on farms in South Hwanghae Province of the DPRK.

Provincial, city and county agricultural guidance organs have pushed ahead with the work to secure seeds for cultivation and raise the rate of mechanization as planned.

The farms secured high-yielding wheat and barley seeds suited to the regional features.

Agricultural workers in Ongjin, Chongdan and Jangyon counties prepared enough quality self-sufficing manure.

Jaeryong, Sinwon, Pongchon and Paechon counties made successes in the work to improve the soil conditions and Haeju City and Songhwa and Pyoksong counties completed the irrigation system for thousands of hectares of farm fields.

Working people in Thaethan, Samchon and Unchon counties finished the production of wheat and barley planters as planned.

Unryul and Anak counties have increased the proportion of wheat and barley farm work done by machines by making the planters suitable for the topographical features. -0-
