Pyongyang, January 21 (KCNA) – Big efforts are being directed to minimizing natural disasters across the DPRK.
Officials of South Hamgyong Province are taking measures to ensure the scientific accuracy, promptness and correctness in disaster warning and discussing the work for implementing them with relevant units.
In the course, cities and counties have introduced a flood early-warning system and detailed the plans for developing and introducing programs to forecast flooding and inform it of all units.
Officials of the city of Tokchon of South Phyongan Province have reflected a plan for river improvement in this year's goal in keeping with the specific conditions of the Taedong River and its big and small tributaries and taken measures to implement it.
They have learned about the performance and operation of heavy machines at different units and pushed ahead with the work to distribute them in the relevant work sections.
Koksan County in North Hwanghae Province has given precedence to designing suitable to mountainous conditions of relevant areas for anti-land-sliding project. -0-
