Pyongyang, June 17 (KCNA) -- An event took place at the National Blood Center under the Ministry of Public Health in the DPRK on June 16 to mark World Blood Donor Day.
Present there were officials of the ministry, blood donors, medical workers in Pyongyang and employees of the center.
At the event, the speaker expressed thanks to the blood donors who voluntarily donate precious blood to save people's lives and help restore their health, and referred to the theme of World Blood Donor Day this year and the purpose of the blood donation activities.
The speaker stressed that medical workers in the field of blood transfusion should decisively improve the quality of experimental tests and develop more safe blood and blood products to make contribution to the treatment of patients.
