Kelp Transplantation Starts at Fishery Units in West Coastal Area of DPRK

Pyongyang, January 11 (KCNA) -- Kelp transplantation is in full swing at the fishery units in the west coastal area of the DPRK.

The Pupho Offshore Farm, which over-fulfilled its plan for seaweeds production last year, has achieved successes from the beginning of the year.

On the basis of the indices including the depth and the flow speed of sea water, culturists of the production workshops Nos. 1 and 2 are installing aquaculture equipment in good time.

Those of the production workshops Nos. 3 and 4 are speeding up their work while observing technical regulations.

The Kumipho Fishery Station has made successes in kelp transplantation.

With one mind to provide the people with tasty kelp, the culturists have introduced advanced methods of managing aquaculture grounds suited to sea water temperature and sunshine conditions.

Employees of the Ongjin Offshore Farm completed kelp transplantation in a short span of time while keeping the requirements of technical regulations. -0-
