JUK Officials Start Study Tour of Mt Paektu

Pyongyang, April 10 (KCNA) -- Officials of the Journalists Union of Korea (JUK) started their study tour of Mt Paektu.

A kick-off meeting took place at the plaza before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il in Hyesan City on April 9.

The participants laid a flower basket and bouquets before the statues of the great leaders and paid tribute to them.

At the meeting, a speaker referred to the fact that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who demonstrated to the whole world the advance spirit of Juche Korea by making a historic horseback march, has called the officials of the JUK to the strategic base of the Korean revolution and the center for education in the revolutionary traditions.

The speaker stressed the need for the members of the study tour group to deeply understand how the roots of the Korean revolution were provided in the battlefields of Mt Paektu and how the tradition of loyalty has been carried forward, and to prepare themselves as the ardent followers and staunch defenders who thoroughly implement the revolutionary ideas of the Workers' Party of Korea.

At the end of the meeting, the JUK officials left for the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site after looking round the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo and the Ryanggang Provincial Revolutionary Museum. -0-
