DPRK Kindergartens Concentrate on Raising Qualitative Level of Preschool Education

Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) -- Kindergartens in the DPRK direct efforts to raising the quality of preschool education to a high level.

Teachers of the Kaeson Kindergarten in Moranbong District affiliated to Pyongyang Teachers Training College have worked out weekly, monthly and quarterly plans for improving their qualifications to acquire special knowledge.

They have also made new and peculiar teaching aids and multimedia programs suitable for the psychological characteristics of children so that they can enjoy the lessons and take an active part in them.

The Chongryu Kindergarten No. 3 in Taedonggang District found and applied proper ways for children to acquire the habit of pronouncing correctly from the beginning of their learning of foreign languages, and created a teaching method combined with amusement games so as to boost its effectiveness. It is improving the children's cognitive power through educational means based on modern educational technology.

Officials and teachers of the Sungri Kindergarten No. 3 in Rangnang District and the Phohang Kindergarten in Phohang District, Chongjin City are pooling their creative wisdom to find out the children's nature and aptitude and effectively use various intellectual educational means and teaching methods to make children feel curious.

The Othan Kindergarten in Central District, the Sinyang Kindergarten in Sariwon City and the Kuje Kindergarten in Haeju City and other kindergartens, too, are helping the children acquire elementary knowledge, skills and practical abilities through such active educational processes as playing and observations. -0-
