Pyongyang, May 31 (KCNA) -- The electric-power industrial sector in the DPRK is making technical innovation to meet the demand of the national economy for electricity.

As dozens of proposals were introduced at the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex, tens of millions of more kWh of electricity was produced till April this year, more than ten thousand tons of coal was saved and the original performance of generating equipment was restored.

The East Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant is striving to introduce a new ignition technology and a wet dust remover into the boiler No. 3.

The Chongchongang Thermal Power Plant is searching a plan for raising the combustion efficiency in boiler and saving a lot of coal, and the workers of the Sunchon Thermal Power Plant are concentrating their efforts on improving the thermal efficiency by changing the boiler slag outlet into the enclosed one.

The Hochongang Power Station has conducted the work to develop a digital rainfall measuring system and real-time measuring systems for air temperature and reservoir water level for putting water management on a higher scientific basis. The Jangjingang Power Station introduced a technology of restoring the original performance of generator stator winding into several generators.

The Sodusu Power Station installed a new X-type waterwheel to increase the efficiency of generating equipment and the Kanggye Youth Power Station is conducting the work to expand and introduce digital excitation devices. -0-
