Pyongyang, August 26 (KCNA) -- Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, inspected the Chollima Steel Complex and farms in Mangyongdae District.

Going round the steel shop, seamless steel pipe shop and others of the Chollima Steel Complex seething with the drive for producing iron and steel for the successful completion of the five-year plan, he learned in detail about the progress made in steel production and the projects for readjustment and reinforcement.

He called for dynamically speeding up the projects for reducing the melting time of electric furnaces per charge to the maximum and simultaneously improving the quantity and quality of steel by actively pushing forward the remodeling and repairing of irrational elements in production processes by dint of science and technology.

The field consultative meeting discussed the issues of fully supplying in time raw and other materials needed for iron and steel production and the issue for officials to conduct the enterprise and business management effectively with their clear goals and scientific insights for increasing production.

At the Mangyongdae Vegetable Farm in Mangyongdae District, Pyongyang Municipality, he learned about the introduction of new cultivation methods and techniques including the wheat transplanting of our style capable of saving manpower and seeds and fully ensuring the period of growth. He called for organizing a nationwide demonstration lecture to actively generalize the successes and experience and, at the same time, concentrate efforts on immediate manuring and cultivation to bring about good results.

Visiting the Chilgol Vegetable Farm which introduced on trial the green cultivation and fish farming method prioritized by the Party at present, he called for thoroughly applying the scientific and technological requirements arising in fish farming in paddy field and thus proving the validity and vitality of the Party's policies and the economic effectiveness of fish farming in paddy field. -0-
